In-Step Mobility Products created the U-Step Walking Stabilizer to increase your independence.  The secret is in the patented U-shaped base; its ultra-stable foundation braces you in every direction.

It is not like pushing a walker.  Instead, the U-Step surrounds you and moves with you.  You will feel as stable as you would feel holding onto another person’s arm.

The innovative braking system is easy to use and puts you in complete control.  The U-Step will not roll unless you are ready to walk.  When you lightly squeeze either hand brake, all wheels unlock and the unit will roll with you.  Once you release the hand brake, the unit will stop immediately.  This feature is particularly helpful when standing up from a chair because the unit will not roll away from you.

The LaserLight option

Many Parkinson's patients benefit from a visual cue for each step, avoiding freezing and increasing their stride length.  The optional laserlight projects a bright red line in front of the patient's feet.  View the video below for a demonstration.

The Height option

The U-Step's handlebars adjust to 8 different height levels.  Most patients between 5'1" and 6'1" should use the Regular frame.  The Short frame has a seat-to-ground height of 19" instead of 22", for patients whose feet do not touch the floor when sitting 22" high.  The Tall frame extends the maximum handlebar-to-ground height from 37" to 38.5".
